The premier provider of restoration and reconstruction services had five new openings in 2022, working towards its goal of 60 to 75 units by 2024.

United Water Restoration Group (UWRG), the 86-territory franchise brand that has provided premier restoration and reconstruction services for nearly 15 years, has seen great success in 2022 as it added new locations and implemented new measures as a company. This year, UWRG had a total of seven signings and five new openings, bringing their total number of units to 86. The brand also saw impressive year-over-year sales growth of 44% over 2021.

“This has been a fantastic year for UWRG, and we are excited to take this momentum into 2023,” said Bob Moore, Vice President of Development & Operations at UWRG. “Helping people recover their most valuable assets and get back to normal life after a disaster is an essential community service, and UWRG will continue to be a dominant force in the restoration industry.”

In 2022, the franchise began working with Raintree, a franchise development organization, to reach its development goals of expanding to over 150 units in the next two years. Raintree will leverage its in-depth expertise and processes to help connect UWRG with qualified and passionate franchisee prospects across the country.

“There is an ability, even in a contested market, for UWRG to serve their community at a higher standard,” said Linton Dowling, Vice President of Marketing at Raintree. “Their focus on customer service and not being tied to insurance companies trying to cut corners stands out above all those franchises even in competitive territories.”

“With so much to celebrate this year and so many new owners joining the family, UWRG also got together to hold its first owner’s conference in Ormond Beach, FL. The conference featured training, interactive informational sessions, opportunities for networking, and an awards night honoring franchise owners for their achievements. The conference was a huge success for all of the franchisees in attendance.

“This needed to happen, and I think it has been extremely beneficial,” said Phil DePaul, a UWRG franchisee from Long Island. “It was lively, engaging, highly interactive and structured in a way where I think we all walked away with some great takeaways to implement back home.”

As UWRG expanded this year, Moore says the company has made sure to stay true to its commitment to help homeowners and business owners recover from unforeseen events. In September, for example, as Hurricane Ian came through Florida and caused massive damage, several UWRG locations stepped up and undertook massive commercial and residential water damage restoration services to help their communities return to a state of normalcy.

“We assisted hundreds of property owners in the wake of hurricane Ian,” said Moore. “Our teams were ready to answer the call and assist when travel advisories permitted.”

DePaul and his team from Long Island were among those to travel down to Florida and offer their services to the community.

To check in with its expanding system of franchisees after such a groundbreaking year, UWRG participated in its first Franchise Business Review Survey in 2022. The survey included a detailed breakdown of overall franchisee satisfaction. It covered critical areas of training, support, marketing, operations, communication, franchisee-franchisor relations and more. UWRG scored exceptionally in all categories, outpacing the averages for the home services brands surveyed.

Looking ahead to 2023, the brand hopes to have 25 new franchisees, according to Moore. Every city in the U.S. experiences water, fire, mold or structural damage, so UWRG owners can thrive anywhere, but current target markets include metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, Chicago, Baltimore and Washington DC.
