Rail traffic has come to a halt after a Sal tree fell on two tracks at Betanoti railway station in Mayurbhanj district on Thursday.
The electric wire above the railway tracks got snapped after the huge tree uprooted and fell on it leading to disruption of the train services.
Several passengers got stranded and faced lots of difficulties due to the halting of trains.
Balasore-Bangiriposi DMU train has been halted at Krushnachandrapur railway station which is nearest to Betanoti station.
As per reports, Railway Department officials are currently trying to clear the track by cutting the tree. As per reports, it will take some more time to clear the track and restore electricity by cutting the tree.
