A new location is open to residents who wish to donate tree debris. Root balls like this should be taken to the new location along Grigs Road.

A new site is available Monday morning for residents of the Highlands Ranch, which has been forced to shed tree debris after last week’s unprecedented storm.

Starting at 8am Monday, June 26, you can take tree trimmings — including root balls and branches — to a yard near Grigs Road and McArthur Ranch Road. Look for variable message signs directing you to the site.

dropping of tree remains
There are now three locations available for tree remains. Anything larger than a typical trash can load should go to these pages:

  • Highland Heritage Regional Park, 9651 S. Quebec. view card.
  • Halftime Help Stadium at Redstone Park, 3280 Redstone Park Circle. view card.
  • Grigs Road location at Grigs Road and McArthur Ranch Road. view card.

We recognize that there is an ongoing need, so these websites will remain open until further notice. If possible, loads with root balls should go to the new Grigs location.

If you are unable to transport your debris, Douglas County will coordinate residential pickups in some of the hardest-hit areas beginning later this week. In the meantime, please do your best to keep your fire hazard/debris off the roadway. If you can bring some of your own rubbish to the drop-off points, that helps enormously.

Volunteers wanted
