(KNSI) – A St. Cloud company wants to help provide a safe home for two Minnesota families.
Oberg Roofing and Remodeling is accepting applications for its second annual roof rescue program. CEO Celeb Oberg stopped by KNSI Studios and said one winner will be family while the other will be veteran. “We have a place on our website where you can go and nominate [someone]. Tell a little story about the person. The story really helps [because] It gives us a chance to really question, “Is this the right person for us?” Because we have a committee that sits down, goes through all the nominations and chooses the ones that we think are the best fit.”
Oberg spoke to KNSI News about the importance of the program and the importance of giving back to the community. “We have found that there is an absolute need for some people out there who just need a new roof and cannot afford it for other purposes. Maybe they’ve been hit by storm damage and can’t afford a new roof, but they have a leak or something that might cause some damage inside. And we want to stop it before it gets too bad.”
The company has committed $15,000 to each project.
Nominations for a family in need are being accepted now through midnight on July 19th. Military nominations will be accepted between August 1st and September 19th. The work should be completed by autumn of this year.
