One person has died after crashing into a tree in Glastonbury early Sunday morning.
Just before 1am, emergency services were called to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Hopewell Road and Matson Hill Road
According to the police, the driver was probably killed at the scene of the accident. The person’s identity will be kept secret while next of kin are notified. No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Investigators believe the vehicle was traveling southwest on Hopewell Road, failed to stop at the stop sign, crossed the intersection on Matson Hill Road and then struck a tree in the wooded area.
The Metro’s traffic service responded and processed the scene of the accident. The crash is still under investigation.
