Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County is proud to host the Annual Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Field Scouting and Research Updates Twilight Meeting on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Plains View Farm in Pleasant Valley to present the Christmas tree. MILLBROOK, NY – Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County is proud to host the annual Twilight Meeting “Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Field Scouting and Research Updates” for the Christmas tree Farm in Pleasant Valley. This event is hosted by Glenn Wade, 3rd Manager of Plains View Farm.

Cornell IPM program specialists, Drs. Betsy Lamb and Brian Eshenaur will focus on current effective and economical methods of controlling pests, diseases, invasive species and weeds. Participants are welcome to bring their own samples and/or photos for identification, discussion and administration.

“We are excited to offer this annual workshop and information to our local Christmas tree growers, arborists and landscapers,” said Stephanie Radin, longtime program director of the Cornell Cooperative Extension agriculture and horticulture programs. “Also, pending approval, we will provide 2.5 NYSDEC recertification points for pesticides (categories 2, 3A, 10, 25) and 2.5 ISA (International Society of Aboriculture) CEUs.”

Registration is required. $40.00 per person, $65 for two people from the same establishment, $30 for each additional person from the same establishment. Registration Deadline: July 21, $65 for walk-ins. No refund, but replacement possible.
