Vote for Storm Works Roofing Football Defensive/ST Player of the Week

Rockland High’s Jacob Comman has been voted the Storm Works Roofing & Restoration High School Football Player of the Week.

The senior received nearly 20,000 votes to earn the honor. Comman kicked the winning field goal with four seconds remaining to lift the Bulldogs to a 23-21 win over Norwell. He also kicked the onside kick to set up the winning field goal.

And this week’s candidates are…

John McDonald, Sr., Hanover: McDonald had an interception in Hanover’s 35-16 win over Quincy. He also had five catches for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns on offense.

Nick Crowe, Soph., Canton: In a 26-0 win over Masconomet, the Bulldogs had seven interceptions. Crowe had one of those picks and returned it for a TD.

Connor Cronk, Sr., Norwell: Cronk scored a 58-yard TD on a muffed punt return in Norwell’s 34-13 win over Middleboro.

Ryan Nunes, Soph., West Bridgewater: In a 34-0 win over Bristol-Plymouth, Nunes returned a punt for a TD.

Connor Pease, Sr., Abington: Pease starred in Abington’s 21-0 win over Rockland. He had a tackle on a fourth-down stop and led the way defensively.

Tyler Kline, Sr., South Shore Tech: Kline returned an interception 70 yards for a score in a 30-16 win over Upper Cape Tech. He added 85 yards rushing on offense.

John Chausse, Jr., Wayland: Chausse returned a fumble 11 yards for a touchdown to get Wayland (4-2) on the board in the second quarter after it trailed 13-0 in a 22-21 win over Waltham.

Noah Foy, Jr., Waltham: Foy returned one of his two interceptions for a 38-yard TD and also caught a 44-yard TD in a 21-20 loss to Wayland.

Garrett Giorgio + Owen Nanartowich, Jrs., Hudson: The linebacker pair collected nine tackles apiece as the Hawks (4-2) rolled past Sharon, 28-6. Giorgio also caught a 2-yard TD pass from QB Jake Attaway in the win.

Aidan Ibbitson, Sr., Holliston: The safety and return man took a punt back 37 yards for a TD as Holliston (3-3, 1-1 TVL Large) blanked Medfield, 44-0.

Bronson Maccini, Jr., Wellesley: Maccini was a perfect 5-for-5 on PATs and hit a 37-yard field goal as the Raiders (3-3, 3-0 Bay State Conference Carey) defeated league foe Newton North, 38-14.

Sam Sullivan, Soph., + John Doucette, Jr., + Owen McGilvray, Sr., Bellingham: Sullivan and Doucette had interceptions and McGilvray recovered a fumble as the Blackhawks (3-3, 2-0 TVL Small) rolled to a 42-13 win over Medway.

Lincoln-Sudbury defense: Junior Ethan Gordon and sophomore Ryan Cushing each had interceptions, while seniors Calvin Pendergast and Abdul Kareem each added a sack in the second straight shutout for the L-S (5-0, 1-0 DCL Large) defense in a 49-0 thrashing of Acton-Boxborough.

Milford defense: The Scarlet Hawks (6-0) collected seven sacks while remaining unbeaten in a 35-20 victory over Lowell. Next, Milford visits King Philip on Friday (7 p.m.) in a Hockomock League battle of unbeatens. KP (6-0) defeated Foxborough, 13-7, this past Friday night in another battle of unbeatens.
