Carver High’s Jameson Helms has been the Storm Works Roofing & Restoration High School Football Defensive/Special Teams Player of the Week.
The senior received nearly 11,000 votes (64.6%) to earn the honor. He starred as his Crusaders pitched a 49-0 shutout against Tri-County. He made 12 tackles (three for a loss) and had a quarterback sack. He also added a rushing touchdown.

Thomas Irby, Sr., Holbrook/Avon: Irby had a pair of interceptions to go with a 45-yard TD catch in a 34-22 win over Atlantis Charter.
John McDonald, Sr., Hanover: McDonald did a little bit of everything in Hanover’s 35-7 win over Stoughton. He intercepted two passes while going 5-for-5 on extra-point kicks. He ran for a TD and had six receptions for 51 yards.

Luke Destrampe, Sr., West Bridgewater: Destrampe kicked a 26-yard field goal to put WB up in the fourth quarter against Rockland, but the Wildcats ultimately lost 27-23. He hauled in a pair of TD receptions on offense.
Ryan Dibona, Sr., Middleboro: DiBona returned an interception for a score, which turned out to be the winning TD, in an 18-14 victory over Taunton.
Jacob Getchell, Jr., Whitman-Hanson: Getchell made 15 tackles as W-H defeated Plymouth South, 32-14. Getchell helped quell one of the state’s best rushing attacks.
Jack Balzarini, Jr., Carver: In the Crusaders 55-0 win over McCann Tech, Balzarini had a sack, interception, passing TD and receiving TD. Carver is 3-0 for the first time in two decades.

Andrew Rivera, Jr., Milford: The linebacker Rivera returned an interception 67 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter for the game’s only score as the host Scarlet Hawks (3-0) hung on for a 7-0, non-league win over Natick.
Owen Nanartowich, Jr., Hudson: Nanartowich returned a fumble 92 yards for a score in the second quarter that made put the Hawks ahead against Worcester South. Hudson went on to fall, 26-20.
Sam Wickline, Jr., Westborough: The safety Wickline had two interceptions as the Rangers (2-1) rolled past Tyngsborough, 38-15.
