The Italian company Retilplast Srl has chosen the Berlin fair for the presentation of two new products: the shade net Refresh and the reflective and mulching net Dual-Tex.
Since 1975, Retilplast has been manufacturing, processing and distributing nets, films and tarpaulins to protect and improve the quality and quantity of horticultural and floricultural production.
“With the arrival of spring, the interest and demand from Italian and foreign farmers has increased,” says Francesco Ruggia. “It’s already a commercial success, even though it’s only been on sale for a few months. Those who have had the opportunity to test it seem to be very satisfied. The new shade net Refresh is ideal for fresh-cut produce in the summer season, while Dual-tex is the two-tone (black/white) dual-function plastic net designed for apples, cherries, kiwis, pears, stone fruit and grapes. The white side has a photosynthetically active function; the black side, in contact with the soil, reduces weed growth. These are two new products that enrich an already extensive catalog. “
Refresh net installed over lamb’s lettuce
“We are going to present these two latest novelties at the fair, to a large and international audience, such as the one that has always characterized Fruit Logistica. We have already scheduled appointments with growers from Spain, South America and Africa to show them the main features of the product.”
Retilplast’s white shade net Refresh improves the climatic conditions under the canopy during the hottest periods of the summer, reducing the temperature inside the greenhouse by 10% and the light intensity by 55%, as well as providing uniform shading and reducing water consumption by approximately 20 to 30%.
Mulching/reflective net Dual-tex installed in a vineyard
Conversely, Dual-tex, made of PE-HD, is walkable, breathable, water permeable and durable. It is designed to improve growing conditions and provide economic value to the farm.
