Eddisons has secured more than £20m in funding to improve buildings at schools across the UK in the latest round of the Government’s Condition Improvement Fund (CIF), including £600,000 for Locking Primary School in Weston-super-Mare.

Eddisons, specialist in the education sector, has raised more than £200m in tuition over the last few years. The latest round of funding secured includes £600,000 for roofing work at Locking Primary School in Weston-super-Mare.

Ian Harrington, Eddisons Specialist Training Team Leader, said: “This is another year of fantastic results for both our customers and the team.

“The success also makes it clear once again that education is one of the worst financed sectors. In this funding round alone, 2,000 projects failed because of their applications.”

“We will continue to work with those schools and academies that have not been successful to provide guidance on future applications and to offer advice on other funding options available.

“With overall CIF potency flat from last year despite benchmark rate inflation at 11 percent and construction inflation at nearly 30 percent, it was one of the most competitive rounds of funding we’ve seen.”

The CIF scheme is an annual round of tenders that allows academies and colleges to apply for funding to maintain and improve their buildings and to fund extension projects for schools that have been rated Good or Excellent by Ofsted.

In all, the Department of Education received applications for funding for over 3,000 projects this year, with 1,033 projects across 859 academies receiving a share of the £456m.

Mr Harrington added: “The CIF bidding process is extremely complex and the Eddisons education team have built extensive knowledge and experience over the years to deliver successful bidding and projects that benefit schools and the people who study and work in them. make a real difference.” them.

“The process of submitting a successful CIF bid becomes more competitive each year and we are very pleased to say that we have maintained our position as a key advisor to the education sector with an excellent success rate for our bids.”

The successful projects will all start shortly and will be managed by Eddisons.
