Woman dies in Fabius Township after hitting tree off US-131

FABIUS TOWNSHIP, Michigan — A woman has died after crashing into a tree in Fabius Township early Tuesday morning.

According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office (SJCSO), the accident happened around 2:30 a.m. at US-131 and King Road.

We were told that an SUV was traveling northbound on US-131 when it went off the west side of the road.

According to officials, the woman, the only occupant of the car, was found dead when emergency services arrived. She wasn’t buckled.

It is not yet known whether alcohol was a cause of the accident, which is still under investigation.
