SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Delta Roofing founder Jim Spears passed away last week.
According to the Meadors Funeral Home website, Spears died on Wednesday, April 10 surrounded by his family in his home.

Mr. James “Jim” Spears of Springfield, Mo passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 surrounded by his family in his home.
Jim was born in Indianapolis, IN on May 19, 1938 to Roy & Mildred (Hammons-Ingulia) Spears.
Jim was a self-proclaimed “doctor of Roofology” and was president/owner of Delta Roofing that he started in 1970. Prior to that Jim owned a large fruit orchard where he trucked his produce to the Chicago area to sell. Jim attended Eminence high school and proudly served his country in the National Guard. He was a true American patriot who continued his patriotism throughout his life.
Jim enjoyed fishing for the “big one” at his winter home on Lake Okeechobee, in Moore Haven, Florida. He loved his family time and good times shared with friends: calling his Arkansas Razorback Hogs, cruising in the Caribbean and traveling all over the USA, especially in his motor coach. He will be fondly remembered for “doubling down” at the Downstream Casino, who he made life long friends with.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nona, his two daughters and a son: Lisa Wood, husband Tom, their children: Abigail Cochran, Cameron Wood & Connor Wood. Aimee Byram, husband Dan, their son: Alexander. James Robert II/Jimmy Spears, wife Claricia, their sons: James III & Carson. Jim’s sister, Patricia Ham, husband Jeff of Beauford, Mo. Jim was proceeding in death by his parents and son Kevin Rinehart.
Final arrangements are being made with Meadors Funeral Home in Republic, Mo. Visitation will be 10:30 am-12:30 pm April 13, 2024 at Brookline church of Christ, 3086 N. Brookline Ave. Brookline, Mo 65738. Graveside Services will follow at 1p.m. at Brookline Cemetery.
