Taking to Instagram, Paddy Appliances, Home Appliances Experts said, “If you’re looking for ways to save electricity while doing laundry, here are a few tips.”

By washing clothes in cold water, you can save up to 90 percent of the energy needed to heat water for a warm or hot wash.

  1. Wash full load.

Washing a full load uses the same amount of energy as washing a partial load. Therefore, be sure to wait until you have a full load before starting the washing machine.

Just be careful NOT to overload it!

  1. Choose the right cycle.

Delicate or particularly large loads require more energy. Therefore, be sure to choose the right cycle for the task at hand to minimize energy consumption.

  1. Disconnect your washing machine from the mains.

Unplugging your washing machine when not in use can save energy that is wasted by the machine’s standby power.

The expert added, “I hope these tips help you save some energy while doing laundry!”
