In a statement, a Clark-Pleasant School Corporation spokesperson said, “Overnight rain, along with ongoing roof repairs, has led to damage in several classrooms at Whiteland Elementary.”
Classes at the school were canceled for Wednesday, July 26. All other Clark-Pleasant schools were open for their first day of the school year, the spokesperson said.
In an update later Wednesday, the district said restoration crews had made significant progress in cleaning up the damage, which impacted four to five classrooms in one section of the school.
Whiteland Elementary School will be open for classes Thursday, July 27, the district said.
