Roads like McConville Road have been closed in some areas due to flooding as you can see below.

Flooding in Lynchburg (WSLS)

A fallen tree crushed a parked car on Thursday evening and partially blocked the roadway.

10 News spoke to a neighbor who says the car downstairs belongs to his son. The neighbor told us that lightning struck the tree, which you can see in the main video above.

Jacari Alexander, the car owner, was not in the car at the time of the incident.

“Why did it have to be me and why did it have to fall right there? On my car?”

Fortunatly nobody was hurt.

As for the cleanup, a man from Garcia’s Tree Services says the plan is to leave tomorrow morning to remove the tree by the car.

He said he expected it to take about two hours and of course when that happens more damage to the car will show.

10 News also received reports of hail from the area earlier in the day. Chris Manley sent us video to give us a glimpse of the storms that rolled through around 4:30pm

The weather agency’s July 13 warning has since been lifted. You can continue reading the article and see previous updates here.
