A Weiss Tree Service worker removes fronds from a Cuban royal palm on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, in Des Moines, Iowa. The palm was donated to the Botanical Garden in 2009, and has grown to touch the roof of the 70-foot-tall conservatory. They plan to keep a portion of the palm to display for educational purposes and a foxtail palm is to be planted in its’ place.
