HUGHESVILLE, Md. – At around 18:19 on 30 June, police, fire and ambulance services were called to Burnt Store Road in the Old Blandford Place area following a serious car accident. According to a caller, the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident drove erratically on the wrong side of the road before it ended up in a ditch and crashed into a tree.
Upon arrival, emergency services found a single vehicle hit a tree off the roadway and one occupant did not respond. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
Police are currently investigating the collision. No further details have been released at this time.
