Panola County chamber hosts ribbon cutting for Timber Tree Service | News

Ambassadors from the Panola County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting Wednesday for Timber Tree Service and owners Jeff and Amie Jo Powers for a new member at one of the area’s newest businesses.

Jeff Powers said he is a certified arborist ready to get down to work helping residents and landowners in the Carthage and Panola County areas take care of the pruning and tree felling.

Powers said they moved to Panola County from Colorado about six months ago and he’s glad to be here. Powers said the move came after a nationwide search for a positive business and political environment.

“We’re enjoying it here,” Powers said. “It’s really nice here.”

With the Powers couple came two children who were really interested in athletics. They are enrolled in Carthage ISD which provides a positive environment for their children’s athletic ability.

“It’s a long story, but we’ve looked at everything,” Powers said. “We looked in Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas. We were really looking.”

While Timber Tree Service is based in Carthage, Powers says it offers services throughout Panola County and surrounding areas like Henderson and Marshall.

Neil Bishop, who works for Timber Tree Service, helped Powers with the ceremonial ribbon cutting. For more information, contact the company at (903) 263-0591 or (970) 309-9359; or by email from Powers at They also have a Facebook page at Jeff Powers Timber Tree Service.
