ATLANTA, April 18, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — ChannelWorks, North America Premier channel-only IT asset lifecycle provider, is pleased to announce the launch of GreenCover, its new zero-carbon service level agreement for third-party maintenance contracts. This revolutionary initiative aims to significantly reduce the environmental impact of ChannelWorks’ service delivery efforts without compromising the exceptional customer support they are known for.
The GreenCover SLA demonstrates ChannelWorks’ commitment to sustainability by incorporating green practices throughout the service process while continuing to deliver exceptional service to customers worldwide.
Key features of the new offering include:
- CO2-neutral service calls. The carbon footprint of each engagement is measured with the goal of significantly reducing our carbon footprint and purchasing carbon offsets for any impact that cannot be reduced or eliminated.
- Geographic optimization of all on-site service technicians with the aim of eliminating significant travel.
- Use of electric vehicles if possible for on-site service calls
- Use of post-consumer recycled materials for shipping materials
- Planting a tree for each asset that falls under the GreenGuard SLA
By partnering with UK-based Evertree to plant trees in parts of Kenya, the Amazon and other parts of the world affected by significant deforestation, ChannelWorks demonstrates its commitment to green IT initiatives by planting trees on behalf of partners and their customers for each asset covered by the SLA. By visiting ChannelWorks’ sustainability website, customers can see the trees they have planted and see their impact directly.
“We have always been advocates for sustainability at ChannelWorks. It is one of our core values and is reflected in the services we offer; pre-owned hardware, third party maintenance and ITAD all contribute to a circular economy.” says Kenny Powers, President of ChannelWorks. “Our partners are now able to offer their customers a zero-carbon SLA and drive their commitment to sustainable business practices globally.”
In 2022, ChannelWorks partnered with GreenPlaces to become carbon neutral by completing their first annual carbon assessment, taking appropriate action to reduce and offset emissions where necessary. ChannelWorks is proud to participate in Earth Day 2023 by planting new trees and expanding access to green data center services by supporting this year’s theme, Invest in Our Planet.
