FAIRMONT, W.Va (WDTV) – Rebecca Butler got a new roof on Saturday after entering a contest at the Morgantown Home Show last month.
Butler, who teaches preschool at Watson Elementary, said winning the giveaway means a lot to her.
“I don’t know that there’s actually a word that can quantify it,” said Butler. “I mean, that’s a huge weight off my shoulders in getting that done, just for the safety and security of the house.”
Butler said she was in desperate need of a roof, and it came as a shock to her when she got the call.
This is the first time Ultimate Roofing has done a free roof giveaway.
Everyone who stopped by the Ultimate Roofing booth at the home show was entered into the contest, and Butler was picked at random.
Mike Hamilla, the sales manager with Ultimate Roofing, says it’s a good way for the company to give back to their community.
“I think it’s important that once you reach a certain level of success in your business, it’s important to help out the people who helped get you to the place where you’re at,” said Hamilla.
Hamilla said Ultimate Roofing did about 900 replacements last year.
Although this is the first free roof giveaway, Hamilla said it won’t be the last.
“We’ve been really thankful that we were able to help Rebecca out and get her a new roof replacement so it’s been an exciting process,” said Hamilla. “We enjoyed putting it together, and it’s been going really fantastic.”
Ultimate Roofing is based in Morgantown, but is licensed in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Maryland as well.
