Texas Traditions Roofing, a family-owned, commercial, and residential roofing company serving Central Texas, announced last Wednesday that company President Michael Pickel and General Manager Bryan Chisholm had purchased the company from founders Mike Pickel and Gary Emory, who are retiring.

In a Jan. 24 news release, Texas Traditions said the ownership change took effect January 1, 2024.

“This is an exciting step for myself, Bryan and the company,” Michael Pickel said. “We are looking forward to continuing to build the company with the same values of service and trust that were established by Mike and Gary when they started the business 10 years ago.”

Chisholm joined the team as general manager in 2023; when the opportunity to become an equity holder presented itself, he said he knew it was the right decision.

“Texas Traditions Roofing has built an incredible culture based upon faith in God and a dedication to excellence in roofing and providing exceptional service to our customers,” said Chisholm. “I am excited to be able to continue that culture of service and excellence in the role of an owner.”

Texas Traditions said that when acquisitions and private equity are rampant in the roofing industry, selling out would have been an ‘easy option’ for the ready-to-retire owners. However, their strong belief in being part of the community made it important to ensure the stellar reputation built over the last decade remained intact.

“Bryan and I are committed to ensuring that we always serve our community with the ‘tradition of trust’ that they have come to expect from us,” Michael Pickel added.
