Playoffs start today as the Girls Volleyball regular season came to a close last week.

North Kingstown finished atop the Division I standings (15-1), with Chariho just a tick behind (16-4-2). In Division II, East Providence finished off a perfect regular season (16-0), with both Cumberland and Mt. Hope at 14-3. In Division III, Tolman reigned supreme at 14-3.

Who will be hoisting their division’s championship trophies is still to be determined, but some of this week’s Storm Works Roofing Athlete of Week nominees in Girls Volleyball will undoubtedly play a role.

Thanks to the coaches and athletic administrators who have reported scores to us throughout the year. We hope to hear from you during the playoffs as well. You can reach us Monday-Friday from 6-10 p.m. at (401) 277-7340 or any time at pjsports@providencejournal.com.

Here the final poll of the regular season.

Harmony Forrest, Classical

The season may not have ended the way the Purple had wanted, finishing 7-9 in the middle of the Division I standings, but the senior closed with a monster week. She recorded 21 kills in a 3-2 win over East Greenwich, then 12 more in a win over Mount St. Charles.

Trinity Burk, Tolman

There’s a reason why the Tigers proved to be the class of Division III, and Burk played a starring role in their success. The Tolman senior swung for 15 kills in a 3-0 win over Scituate. A couple of days later, she recorded 8 kills in a win over Toll Gate. Look for Burk and the Tigers to keep their dominant play going this postseason.

Abby Spadoni, Coventry

The Oakers won’t be an easy out this postseason, as the Division I contenders will feature the likes of Spadoni, and former Storm Works Athlete of the Week Olivia Rollinson in their playoff push. Spadoni recorded 11 kills and 20 digs in a 3-1 victory over East Greenwich, helping Coventry end its season at 12-4.

Kenzie Cleary, Burrillville

The Broncos junior is no stranger to this list, having won the Athlete of the Week poll in late September. Her solid play has continued all season, and she shined once again in a 3-0 over Woonsocket last week, recording 14 kills and 4 blocks. Burrillville will be a formidable foe in the Division III playoffs, having finished its season at 12-4, good for third place.

Emma McCrann, Barrington

The Eagles sophomore had quite the week, swinging for 12 kills in a win over Bay View, then recording 11 kills, 16 digs and 7 aces in beating Mt. Hope, helping Barrington end its season at 12-3, good for fourth place in Division II.
