LURAY, Va. (WHSV) – A Page County married couple was sentenced in a massive construction fraud case on Valentine’s Day. Allen and Sabrina Knott, the owners of Knott’s Roofing were each sentenced to 4 and a half years in prison on Wednesday with five years of probation upon release.
Back in November, the married couple was found guilty of 94 combined counts of construction fraud, obtaining money by false pretenses, and conspiracy to commit both of those crimes.
The crimes occurred over 13 months from January 2020 to late January 2021 and the case included 24 victims. During that time Knott’s Roofing took deposits for roofing jobs ranging from $1,200 to $12,000 and never purchased materials or returned to do the work for any of the victims.
