MCGAHEYSVILLE, Va. (WHSV) – After a storm caused severe hail damage to the Miramontes family’s roof and left it in dire need of repair, their insurance company failed to fully cover a replacement. It led them with their only option to take out a loan, but that’s when a local company stepped in to help.
“We are deeply committed to our motto which is ‘Change Roofs, change lives.’ So, when we heard about their struggles to get the insurance company to replace their roof we saw an opportunity to make a real difference,” Administrator for Highest Roofing Fernando Sagastume said.
Highest Roofing is a family-owned roofing company based out of Harrisonburg, Fernando works alongside his father and several other relatives on projects around the Shenandoah Valley. But, he said when they heard the Miramontes’ story, this became a cause close to their hearts.
“For us providing this service goes beyond just simply installing a new roof it’s about fulfilling our mission to positively impact the lives in our community,” Sagastume said.
The crew spent two days tearing off the old, damaged shingles and paper. They then checked the decking and installed accessories and the new shingles, finishing the project on March 21. All to bring peace of mind to the Miramontes family.
“They are an example of kindness and how to help people, help each other. I hope that one day, God will repay them for this gesture. As the old saying goes, ‘He who does well, fares well.’ God bless the Highest Roofing office staff and team. We thank everyone who contributed and made this possible for us,” Maria Flores Miramontes said.
Maria and her children expressed how the kind gesture will make their home a safer place to live for years to come.
