Jack Douthit began his plumbing career in 1969 after leaving the military.

“I needed a job,” he said.

So he worked for a plumbing company for a few years, then he worked at NorCal Plumbing for about five years. While working with Jim Plumbing, he was asked to join the plumber for hands-on work. After that he was hooked.

In 1983 he opened his own shop: Plumbing Fixtures 4 Less in Suisun City on Railroad Avenue. After about 15 years, he decided to move his business to a large 2,500 square foot building on his property.

“It’s basically a short run to work,” he said.

Douthit works with his son, Johnny Douthit, doing renovations here and there for clients.

He said the pandemic was surprisingly not a problem for his business.

“People were working from home and they found they had projects they wanted done,” he said.

Douthit only sells plumbing supplies such as water heaters, faucets and parts.

He said his prices are about 5% to 10% lower than Home Depot’s prices.

“We’re not a retail store or a wholesale store, we’re right in the middle,” Douthit said.

Anyone looking for parts or pieces or has a small project – they may have what you are looking for.
