J O Roofing was established by Jack O’Sullivan on August 19, 2020, during the Covid lockdown.

It was administratively run from the family home with Mr O’Sullivan’s wife Soraya completing all the necessary paperwork.

Three years later, the business has celebrated the opening of its new yard and offices at Kalen Court.

Mr O’Sullivan said: “At the beginning, it was no easy task.

“But we really have gone from strength to strength, and we’ve worked with some great people.

“Perseverance paid off greatly even though the work came in slowly to begin with. It has really gone from strength to strength.”

Mr O’Sullivan said he did question himself with the gamble he had taken with business being slow due to the pandemic rules and regulations.

He added the firm had the pleasure of working with some great contractors – Nick, Frankie, Barrie and George to name a few.

With the successful growth of the company, Mr O’Sullivan has now been able to employ his sister-in-law Raine Caplin to work full-time in the office.

The firm has also formed relationships with other businesses which it works daily with.

Mr O’Sullivan’s daughter attended Uplands Pre-School so J O Roofing did the best it could to support them in return.

It donated some money to the pre-school to support finances for their Christmas pre-school party.

Mr O’Sullivan donated enough funds to cover the school’s entertainment, Christmas letters, party bags, selection boxes for every child, Santa’s visit and the staffs’ lunch.

If that wasn’t enough, he donated all the Easter eggs for every child for their Easter party.
