Issues with plumbing Thursday, Aug. 20, at Windermere High School have forced the school to release students early.
According to Principal Andrew Leftakis, release procedures began at 12:45 p.m. All students received lunch before release, he said.
“All bus riders will have their normal routes available at that time to transport them home,” Leftakis said in a voice mail to families.
Leftakis said Orange County Public Schools maintenance staff has responded to the plumbing issue.
“Custodial and maintenance crews are now working to clean and disinfect all impacted areas,” he said.
Furthermore, all after-school activities have been canceled for the day.
Leftakis said he will update families later tonight, and school hours should be unaffected for tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 21.
