DEKALB COUNTY, Georgia – DeKalb County is reminding residents of its plumbing repair program, which offers free repairs to qualified homeowners.
Applications opened on May 1st and will run until December 31st. The required documentation must be submitted and after inspections plumbing companies can assist.
According to the county, the teams can help with side remediation of private sewers, conversion from septic tanks to sewers, water leaks due to high water usage, and leaks related to weather issues.
The DeKalb County Community Development Department explained some of the program requirements. Applicants must be homeowners in DeKalb County, the repair must be in the homeowner’s primary residence, and the total household income must be at or below 60% of the regional median income as defined by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. For illustration, the maximum income for a family of four must be $57,840.
