Cat Climbs To Very Top of Tree Near Ulster County SPCA

Something seemed to spook this poor kitten in Ulster County who wound up scaling a nearby tree, finding itself in a bit of a bind. The Ulster County SPCA reports that the first rescue effort spooked the poor cat even more, causing it to climb further into the branches which required additional help, or as they referred to, a call to ‘the big guns.’

Expert Tree Service out of Hurley, NY was called to the scene where the cat was stranded, and with their bucket trucks and team, worked with the UCSPCA to make the rescue as smooth as possible. Employee Keith, who received a great deal of praise and recognition from the community, was able to both operate the bucket and finagle the cat into the carrier, ‘deftly plucking the kitty off the branch.’

The team at the UCSPCA shared the following sentiment:

honestly, it was in the nick of time as we could see the cat was very cold and exhausted from clinging to such a small branch to keep from falling.
