PERRY, Ohio — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office confirms a tree removal worker is dead following an on-the-job incident Monday afternoon in Perry Township.
Deputies and fire crews were called to the scene on Lane Road around 1:51 p.m. amid reports of a man “who was seriously injured while operating tree removal equipment.” Authorities have not released any information regarding how the victim was hurt.
The 40-year-old Painesville Township resident later died from his injuries at University Hospitals Tripoint Medical Center. His name has not been made public.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
