FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. (WAVE) – Police said a youth died after crashing into a tree Tuesday morning in Floyd County.
According to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Officials said a truck was traveling north in Block 4000 of SR 11 when it went off the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Officers from the Floyd County Police Department and Floyd County Emergency Services responded to the scene and found the youth who had been driving the truck dead at the scene.
There were no other occupants inside the truck, officials confirmed.
The family arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and are aware of the circumstances.
No further information was given.
The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating.
