Emergency services rush to Shropshire village after car hits tree

It happened around 8pm on Sunday in Sutton Maddock.

A spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue said: “At 8.12pm on Sunday the SFRS fire control center received a call reporting a fire as a safety precaution which was ruled a road traffic accident.”

“A fire engine was mobilized from Telford Central.

“A limousine vehicle collided with a tree. The crews made the vehicle electrically safe with small devices.”

The West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 8.05pm on Sunday to a road accident involving a car colliding with a tree at Sutton Maddock in Shifnal.

“An ambulance was there.

“Upon arrival, emergency services found a man who was the driver of the vehicle. He was examined and had non-life-threatening injuries.

“He received self-care advice from emergency services personnel before being discharged at the scene.”
