CEDAR FALLS — A public hearing will be held Monday on planned Cedar Falls Community Schools’ roofing and tuckpointing projects estimated to cost more than $300,000.

The Board of Education meets at 5:30 p.m. in Cedar Falls City Hall, 220 Clay St.

Bids are being sought for the projects at Cedar Heights and Orchard Hill elementary schools, where portions of the roofs will be replaced this summer.

Last month, Terracon Consultants Inc. of Cedar Falls discussed the projects. At Cedar Heights, a 10,844-square-foot roof would be replaced at an estimated cost of $240,000. The 1,060-square-foot roof at Orchard Hill would be replaced at an estimated cost of $35,000. Terracon’s design services are estimated at $36,100.

The projects will be funded with physical plant and equipment levy revenues.

In other business, the board will:

Hear an update from Superintendent Andy Pattee on the Iowa legislative session and the current high school. Last month, developer Brent Dahlstrom made a presentation to the board about buying the building once it is vacated.
