Southeastern services between Ramsgate and Ashford International are expected to be disrupted until 3pm due to a tree blocking the line.

The 11:12am service from Ramsgate to Charing Cross reported a tree on the line in the Chartham area. The train has struck the tree and sustained some damage, so response staff are enroute to repair the train and remove the tree from the line.

The line between Ramsgate and Ashford International via Canterbury West is currently blocked while staff work to clear the line and move the affected train.

We are on scene at #Chartham as a train has struck a tree. We are here to ensure the safety of those on board the train and assist @NetworkRailSE MOM. The tree has been removed but a part of the train has broken off and @Se_Railway fitters are on scene fixing this as we speak. pic.twitter.com/qE6qaLAYZz
