Information on roadside collection for tree branches felled by an ice storm or removed from power lines by oncor squads

Tree branches may be placed on the curb for Republic Services pickup if trimmed to a length of four feet, bundled, and stacked wide end toward the curb. The branches must be no more than 15 cm in diameter and the bundles must not weigh more than 22.7 kg. About one cubic meter of brush is collected at each collection date.

Oncor teams are touring Arlington neighborhoods today removing trees and branches that have fallen on power lines in an effort to repair power outages as quickly as possible.

Oncor is not responsible for removing trees or branches that have fallen on private property due to storms such as this week’s ice storm. It is the property owner’s responsibility to dispose of the fallen tree or branches. Click here to view Oncor’s Tree Pruning FAQs.

As a reminder, branches may be placed on the curb for Republic Services pickup if they are clipped to a length of 4 feet, bundled, and stacked with the wide end toward the curb. The branches must be no more than 15 cm in diameter and the bundles must not weigh more than 22.7 kg. About one cubic meter of brush is collected at each collection date.

Please note that Republic Services does not expect to begin collecting brushwood bundles until Thursday, February 9 at the earliest, as crews anticipate a surge in garbage volumes after postponing service for days during the winter ice storm.

For larger unbundled piles of brushwood, local residents can contact any tree felling company. Republic Services also offers collection of large, unbundled brushwood at an hourly rate. For more information, call Republic Services at 817-317-2000.

To report a tree or branch on a power line, contact Oncor at 888-313-4747.
