According to local authorities, a 45-year-old man died after falling about 15 meters from a tree in Oro-Medonte. The incident, reported as a serious accident at work, occurred on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 in the city of Coldwater.
Emergency services, including the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Simcoe County EMTs and Oro-Medonte Firefighters, responded quickly to an apartment building on Huronwoods Drive after receiving reports of a arborist falling. Tragically, the victim, a resident of Springwater Township, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Department of Labour, Immigration, Education and Skills Development undertook the investigation in cooperation with the OPP Forensic Identification Services and the Office of the Coroner.
