Carver High’s Jack Balzarini has been voted the Storm Works Roofing & Restoration Defensive/Special Teams High School Football Player of the Week.

The junior received over 28,000 votes (51.4%) to earn the honor. In a 55-0 win over McCann Tech, Balzarini did a little bit of everything. On defense, he had a sack and an interception. On offense, he threw for a touchdown and had a receiving TD.

And this week’s candidates are…

Garoid Stones, Jr., Braintree: Stones kicked a field goal and added five extra points in a 44-16 win over Quincy. He also threw a TD pass.

Tyler Swain, Sr., Carver: Swain made 17 tackles, including two for a loss, and had a QB sack in a 50-12 win over Martha’s Vineyard.

Jackson Adams, Sr., Norwell: Adams intercepted a pass and scored a TD of offense in a 27-7 win over Abington.

Logan Williams, Jr., East Bridgewater: Williams returned an interception 65 yards for a score and hauled in a 49-yard TD catch in a 28-8 win over Seekonk.

Will Robinson, Jr., Scituate: Robinson returned an interception 53 yards for a score in a 35-12 win over Pembroke. He also had 11 rushes for 120 yards and two TDs.

Cam Monteiro, Sr., Brockton: Monteiro’s late interception in the end zone sealed Brockton’s first win of the season, a 14-7 triumph over Lawrence.

Aidan Rowley, Soph., Milton: Rowley kicked a 24-yard field goal in Weymouth’s 31-7 win over Weymouth. He’s 23-for-23 on PATs so far this season.

Robby Broggi, Sr., Wellesley: Broggi closed the scoring with an 80-yard TD return on a kickoff as the Raiders dominated in a 40-6 win over Brookline.

Daniel Carvalho, Jr., Milford: Carvalho returned an interception 20 yards for a TD to close the scoring as the Scarlet Hawks (4-0) stayed unbeaten with a 48-14 romp at Attleboro.

Michael Caulfield, Soph., Wayland: Caulfield rushed eight times for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns and registered a sack as the Warriors blanked Boston Latin, 55-0.

Landry Fitzgerald, Sr., Blackstone Valley Tech: The defensive tackle Fitzgerald led the Beavers’ defense with two tackles for a loss in a 40-6 win over Worcester Tech.

Brendan Larivee, Sr., Franklin: The safety collected three interceptions as the host Panthers (3-1) earned a 32-20 Hockomock League Kelley-Rex win over North Attleborough.

Sam Sullivan, Soph., Bellingham: The safety’s late interception secured Bellingham’s first victory of the season, a 27-21 triumph over Ashland (2-2).
