SumoQuote will continue to operate out of its Calgary office.

Calgary-based SumoQuote, which develops sales software for contractors, has been acquired by Utah-based roofing software company JobNimbus for an undisclosed amount.

JobNimbus told BetaKit in an email statement that SumoQuote will continue to run out of its Calgary office and its employees have been brought into the JobNimbus team and placed into their original departments. SumoQuote CEO Ryan Shantz has transitioned into a new role, becoming the vice president of strategy at JobNimbus.

JobNimbus said SumoQuote’s software is “exceptional in the market,” and something its customers had been requesting for a while.

JobNimbus said the acquisition is aimed to make JobNimbus “the industry-leading sales-centric customer relationship management (CRM) solution.”

While the two companies already had integrations between their two platforms, the acquisition will see SumoQuote gradually merge into JobNimbus throughout the year, with an end goal of becoming a seamless contracting job creation, estimation, and fulfillment experience within the JobNimbus platform.

“By bringing together JobNimbus and SumoQuote, we’re not just offering the best workflow and business automation; we’re providing a comprehensive sales solution that empowers contractors to be wildly successful in every aspect of their business,” JobNimbus CEO Ben Hodson said in a statement.

SumoQuote was founded in Calgary in 2018 as a proposal software intended for exterior contractors, such as roofers. Much like JobNimbus, it provides a variety of digital tools needed to manage projects, such as creating orders and invoices, setting profit margin conditions, and adding financing plans.

JobNimbus was founded in 2011 by Hodson, head of product Jason Wood, and Nick Wood, with the aim of giving contractors a better tool for project management. Its platform helps contractors schedule jobs, track sales, standardize and sign forms, and integrate with other applications.

In an email statement to BetaKit, JobNimbus said SumoQuote’s software is “exceptional in the market,” and something its customers had been requesting for a while. Shantz echoed this sentiment in a short video posted on the SumoQuote YouTube channel.

“The number one thing we have been hearing from our users is ‘how can we get the SumoQuote data into your CRM?’ This is the answer,” Shantz said in the video.
