CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Help is on the way if your roof is still covered in blue or white.

For homeowners who suffered damage from Hurricane Ian and are struggling to get it repaired, there is an important town hall event taking place Thursday evening (April 20) in Bonita Springs.

If you drive through many communities, these tarps flood the streets in all directions.

There are still hoops you have to jump through to get a contractor to even start construction on your roof.

Some roofing companies told NBC2 they are warning customers of a three to four week wait due to backups.

Something Piera Allan is all too familiar with.

“I’m just looking at it and trying to make the right decision about what to do,” Allan said. “Going to your money you don’t really have but kinda just gotta go in there and take all the money out and pay for a roof.”

The meeting will be at 5:00 p.m. at Elks Lodge – 3231 Coconut Road Bonita Springs, FL 34134.

Roofers, insurance adjusters, and attorneys will be present to answer questions about insurance claims, contractor screening, legal options, and changes in the law.

If you have any questions… you are most welcome to attend the meeting. It starts at 5am and goes until 7:30am.

The best part is that participation is free.
