KINGWOOD, W.Va. (WBOY) — Preston County-based business Titan Roofing is accepting applications and nominations for its 2024 roof giveaway.

The company has been giving free roofs to veterans and military service members every year for the past three years. Last year, Independence resident and U.S. Airforce veteran Scott Cress had his new roof installed in November, and Jason Jaggie and his family in Clarksburg had their new roof installed in October.

Applications are being accepted on Titan’s website from April 1 to April 26, and the winner will be announced on June 10.

Nominators need to fill out general contact information for the nominee as well as information about their military service and need for a new roof. The nomination form is available online here.

In an interview with 304 Today host Lauren Winans, Titan Roofing representative James Sanders said that the key to winning is giving a good backstory.

“Last year, we were only going to do one; we ended up doing three because the backstories were so great that we couldn’t pick one winner,” Sanders said.

He said Titan is giving away at least one roof this year, but “maybe two, maybe three, maybe four. Who knows?”

Nominations from as far north as Washington and Uniontown in Pennsylvania, as far south as Summersville in West Virginia and as far east as Garrett County in Maryland will be considered.
