Two arts organizations in central New York will receive a portion of recent state grant funding totaling $42 million for the arts across New York.

The Everson Museum of Art will receive $206,000 for “ceiling moisture and condensation remediation,” according to New York State Council on the Arts documents.

Stone Quarry Hill Art Park in Cazenovia gets $154,000 for studio improvement and renovation.

Several Finger Lakes organizations such as the Smith Center for the Arts, the Rochester Folk Art Guild, and the Rochester Museum & Science Center also received money for building improvements.

A total of $42,332,000 was spent on small and medium-sized projects. Most grants went to organizations with annual budgets of $1 million or less.

The New York State Council on the Arts has decided which projects will be funded. The $42 million was provided by the New York Legislature and the grants were announced by Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office. The awarding of major projects for the coming fiscal year will be announced in a few weeks.
