ANTRIM COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — Mancelona Veteran Jonathan Smith and his family have a new roof tonight thanks to the Owens Corning Foundation and Story Roofing.
Jonathan says his roof was in rough shape and leaking so his mom Roxanne decided to write to the roof deployment project.
“We tried to repair it ourselves, just with the money that we’ve had in the materials that we’ve had, but to no avail. It seems to have just been getting worse every year,” Jonathan said. “And yeah, we would be able to say we don’t have to do that anymore. Yeah. So this is a god send. This is awesome.”
“Everybody always gets really excited to come out and help a veteran and do something good for somebody that did good for us,” Story Roofing General Manager David Doyle said.
Material for the project was donated by the Owens Corning Foundation.
