James “Jim” Spears, founder of Delta Roofing, dies at the age of 85

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – The founder of Springfield roofing company, Delta Roofing, has died at the age of 85.

According to an online obituary, James “Jim” Spears passed away on April 10 at his home surrounded by family.

Jim started Delta Roofing in 1970 and soon became the self-proclaimed “doctor of Roofology.” According to the obit, before roofing, Jim owned a large fruit orchard where he trucked his produce to the Chicago area to sell.
