HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. — The Hancock County Commission has accepted a bid for the Hancock County magistrate building roofing project.
The commission applied for the Courthouse Facility Improvement grant which is an 80/20 match with the county chipping in 20%.
The project will cost $88,186.
“We’ve had a leaky roof on the magistrate building for quite some time,” Commissioner Eron Chek said.
“We are very excited because the drips that come into the jail space are creating a lot of damage. And the drips for the gutters on the front are creating damage to the stonework on the front. “
By fixing the roof, commissioners hope to prevent further damage to the building.
