Strong winds left the borderland for now, but not without leaving some damage behind.

Roofing companies in the area said they received at least five calls or more.

An assistant with Smith and Ramirez roofing said that by Tuesday afternoon, they had received 13 calls about wind damage.

A company partner, Ty Smith said the company was anticipating the high volume of calls.

“Yesterday was an excessive wind day so the significant increase in calls was anticipated,” said Smith.

He added that the company has stocked up on materials needed to fix the damage winds can cause ahead of Thursday’s high winds.

Smith reminds the public to research companies before hiring them to fix damage.

He said that during this time, customers are often scammed out of money by unlicensed companies.
