The following athletes were nominated for their performances from Aug. 28-Sept. 2. You will find the ballot at the bottom of the page. Be sure to refresh if the poll isn’t visible upon first loading. Voting will be open until noon on Friday this week.
Coaches and athletic directors are invited to nominate athletes each week. E-mail the athlete’s accomplishments for the previous Monday through Saturday to bmccallum@floridatoday.com by 10 a.m. each Monday.
Here are this week’s nominees:
Rayshaan Berry, Eau Gallie football
Berry recorded 18 tackles on Friday in Orlando against Bishop Moore, seven unassisted. He also broke up two passes in the win.
Brayden Bowen, Brevard Heat golf
Bowen shot a nine-hole round of 36 on Friday against MCC at Spessard Holland Golf Course. He shot 39 against Cocoa on Monday at the same course.
Ava Bray, Satellite volleyball
Bray recorded 20 kills, six aces and 16 digs in two matches last week in a combined seven sets against Cocoa and West Shore.
Jasmine Calton, Bayside volleyball
Against Melbourne, Calton recorded 21 kills, seven blocks, five digs and three aces in a five-set victory over the Bulldogs.
Rahmir Davis, Heritage football
Davis recorded 11 tackles, eight of them unassisted and four behind the line, in a shutout win over Palm Bay. He also sacked the quarterback twice.
DayDay Farmer, MCC football
Farmer scored on a 51-yard run, a 71-yard punt return and 16- and 20-yard passing plays on Friday as the Hustlers won at Space Coast.
Dominic Gibson-Smith, Bayside bowling
Gibson-Smith bowled a game of 290 on Thursday at Palm Bay Shore Lanes, following a 237 on Tuesday at the same location.
Thomas Makela, Cocoa golf
Makela shot a nine-hole round of 35 on Monday at Spessard Holland Golf Course in a match against the Brevard Heat.
Brogan McNab, Holy Trinity football
McNab ran 25 and 4 yards for touchdowns and passed for two more on Friday in a road victory at Bayside.
Kaseem Ross, Merritt Island football
Ross rushed 22 times for 175 yards and a 3-yard touchdown on Friday as the Mustangs defeated Melbourne.
Ralph Smith, Titusville football
Smith caught three passes for 90 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns for the Terriers in their win at Yulee.
Malinda Underwood, Rockledge cross country
Underwood won the St. Edward’s Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, running 5,000 meters in 19:03.6 in Vero Beach.
