The former America’s Country Store in Conroe is coming to life as the headquarters of Eldridge Roofing and Solar.

In a March 22 Facebook post, the company announced that it had closed the 22-acre two-building property at 4141 W. Davis St.

“The two buildings and 22 acres will give us the square footage and space we need. We have outgrown our offices on five acres of Spring Cypress Road. After we complete the renovations, we will make this our headquarters,” the post reads.

Company officials did not respond to requests for comment.

America’s Country Store opened in 2003 and closed about 10 years ago. The building has remained empty.

“So many people were sad when America’s Country Store closed and it was even worse to see it just standing there,” said Nance Mikeska, deputy city manager and director of community development. “After years, it’s wonderful that a company like Eldridge Roofing and Solar is coming to revitalize this vast area.”

Established in 1998, Eldridge Roofing and Solar is a family business established in 1998. According to the company’s website, Eldridge Roofing and Solar offers a range of services ranging from roofing to fire and water damage restoration.

“What a great opportunity for our city,” said Councilor Howard Wood. “A company with an excellent reputation is bringing the America’s Country Store property back to life and creating jobs for our citizens. I’m excited to have Eldridge Roofing as a great community partner.”

A schedule for the site’s renovation was not available.
