WATERTOWN — Plumbing repairs will close City Hall on Tuesday afternoon.
The leak to a pipe that connects at the building will undergo repairs and close City Hall after noon.
The plumbing issue first surfaced Friday afternoon, City Manager Eric F. Wagenaar said.
Water Department workers dug up the site and found the source on Sunday afternoon, Code Enforcement Supervisor Dana P. Aikins said.
TMAC Mechanical, Watertown, was retained to complete the repairs. The plumber had to go to Syracuse to pick up a part on Monday. The plumber will switch out the old part that’s causing the leak and install a new one, Aikins said.
The repairs should not take too long but City Hall will be closed Tuesday afternoon in case there are further issues, he said.
Employees can work remotely from home depending on the decision of their department head, Wagenaar said.
