MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) – A plumbing company employee is accused of taking a customer’s check and altering it.

Eric Gene Pummer, 35, of Benton, Ky., was arrested on charges of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and theft by failure to make required disposition.

According to a post on the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, a local plumbing company notified them that a customer had possibly been the victim of a theft by their employee.

The company told them Pummer was sent to finish work at a home. When he completed the job, they say the customer paid him by check.

The check amount was then allegedly altered and it was not submitted to the company.

Pummer was arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail.
