Young people in the district have benefited from a 12-month sanitation training program conducted in partnership with Majuba Tvet College, KZN Department of Economic and Environmental Development and MTL Training and Projects.

Mayor Zulu met with the group of young people participating in the program on July 7 as part of his commitment to play a role in efforts to develop the skills of the district’s youth.

Students are placed in the communities of Amajuba, Emadlangeni, Dannhauser and Newcastle, as well as at Madadeni Hospital and KZN Public Works, where they gain practical work experience and ultimately earn a plumber’s certificate.

Addressing the youth, Thabo Xaba, the director of community service in Amajuba District, said: “On behalf of your Mayor Ndabuko Zulu, we ask that you engage in this program and remain committed to contributing to the development of our economy.”
